About
An tOileán Cloiche agus Amhráin — The Isle of Stone and Song — gathers photographs made across two journeys through Ireland, in June of 2023 and the late winter of 2026.
The essay is arranged in four pillars. Emerald Canvas follows the land itself — coastline, stone, island, and farm. Roots traces the long thread of learning and faith that earned Ireland its old title, a land of saints and scholars. Crucible walks through the castles, churches, and ruins where the island's harder history was written. And The Craic ends where every good Irish day ends — on the trail, in the town, at the table, and in a warm room with music.
Each caption names the location exactly as it was found. Every photograph is shown uncropped, full-frame, one at a time — the way it was actually seen.
Every photograph was made with an Apple iPhone Pro Max. Images were culled and organized with Excire, then refined in Adobe Photoshop and the Nik Collection. Music was composed with Suno, and narration voiced with ElevenLabs. This site was built in collaboration with Claude, Anthropic's Sonnet and Fable models.
